Developing a library of EduTone Connectors^TM to glue together a global ecosystem of educational services and deliver it thru a single EduTone Xchange^TM.

EduTone Connectors^TM are custom-developed for each of the EduTone Channels^TM and for each of the enterprise applications to be integrated with the EduTone Xchange, to facilitate single sign-on authentication through the EduTone Portal^TM, to enable automated provisioning through the EduTone Exchange^TM; and to import end-user data from various enterprise applications through the EduTone Appliance^TM.

There are three (3) types of EduTone Connectors:

• Identity Data Connectors: VIP PASS Connectors that automate the Single Sign-On and Provisioning of EduTone Channels;
• Data Import Connectors: One-way Data Zone Connectors that enable the extraction of end-user data from enterprise systems like SIS and HR; and
• Data Exchange Connectors: Two-Way Data Zone Connectors that enable both import and export of data from enterprise systems like Active Directory.

The EduTone Connectors are developed and maintained by EduTone Certified Service Providers. VIP Tone supports its partners in developing these EduTone Connectors by licensing to them the Connector Development Kit (CDK), which includes necessary software, documentation, training courses and partner support resources.

EduTone Syndicates^TM are also able to create their own EduTone Connectors that may be shared amongst their own community of subscribers, or marketed to other EduTone Syndicates and subscribers through the EduTone Xchange.

The first EduTone Syndicate is the Consortium for Educational Enterprise Data Systems CEEDS-CA^TM, a California Joint Powers Agency formed by County Offices of Education, serving K-12 school districts throughout the state of California.
