The EduTone ApplianceTM enables easy, secure and reliable implementation of the VIP PASSTM technology as a service. Securely installed inside your network firewall, the EduTone Appliance becomes the gateway to the EduTone XchangeTM.
Included in the EduTone Appliance, the step-by-step installation Wizard guides the Site Administrators to securely install, set-up and deploy a customized Single Sign-On EduTone PortalTM, with all of its content and application channels, easily and within a few hours.
The EduTone Portal is based on U-Portal, an Open Source technology developed by the JA-SIG (Java in Administration Special Interest Group). The EduTone Portal is pre-installed in the EduTone Appliance, integrated with the VIP PASS technology, and ready to be deployed by the EduTone Appliance Site Administrator.
Securely placed inside your network firewall, the EduTone Appliance allows the Site Administrator to manage all of the end-user identity data, along with their roles and access rights and privileges, and associated access credentials.
Supported by VIP Tone's Customer Help Desk, the EduTone Appliance is bundled with phone support services to assist in its installation, configuration, operation, and ongoing access to the EduTone Xchange.
The EduTone Appliance can be leased or rented by any school in the United States (specific geographic markets) and is now available for early trials in California (CEEDS-CA Members only).
